Fall River Police Rescue Hikers Lost at Night in Freetown State Forest
A man in his 30s and a woman in her 20s are safely home after losing their way in the woods of Fall River after dark on Sunday.
Fall River Police received a call around 8:40 p.m. about a man and woman lost in the Freetown-Fall River State Forest in the vicinity of Yellow Hill Road and Indian Town Road. Uniform sector cars were dispatched and were able to guide the pair out of the woods using vehicle spotlights and flashlights, according to Fall River Sgt. Joseph Galvao.
No injuries were reported. The 5,000-acre forest includes 25 miles of trails.
