FALL RIVER (WBSM) — An arrest has been made in connection with last weekend’s murder of Taiquan Teixeira in Fall River following a fight outside of a liquor store.

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced today that Kendrick Williams, 32, of Fall River had been arrested earlier in the day in Jacksonville, Florida.

Charges and Arrest Details

Williams is charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, carrying a firearm (subsequent offense), and carrying a loaded firearm.

The D.A.’s Office said Williams also has warrants out of Bristol Superior Court Probation for armed home invasion and two counts of masked armed robbery with a firearm. The probation cases originated in Plymouth County and were transferred to Bristol County for supervision.

Williams will be held without bail in Florida until he can be brought back to Massachusetts.

Details of the Fatal Shooting

Fall River Police responded to a 911 call at about 4:30 p.m. on November 22 reporting that two men were fighting outside of Leonard’s Package Store, located at 1331 Pleasant Street.

Police arrived to find Teixeira, 31, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced deceased a few hours later.
