Fall River Police: Missing Child Ran Away, Wasn’t Abducted
FALL RIVER — Fall River Police say a missing child reported on Wednesday was not an abduction, as social media rumors had indicated.
According to police, the department conducted an investigation on Wednesday, May 5 in regards to a missing 10-year-old child. They say it was determined that the child ran away from home after being punished.
The child was later located on Interstate 195 by Massachusetts State Police and transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation.
“Please be advised that this was NOT an abduction,” police said in a statement.
Rumors were making the rounds on social media Wednesday that the child had been abducted from their home by an online predator.
