FALL RIVER — Police have arrested a Fall River man in connection to two unarmed robberies that took place this week.

Police said 29-year-old Tyler Miranda-Dion has been arrested in connection with the robberies, which took place at a Walgreens on Sunday and a gas station on Tuesday.

The incidents are two of four robberies that took place in the city of Fall River this week, with the other two being armed robberies that also took place on Sunday and Tuesday, although a different suspect has been arrested in connection to those.

According to police, at around 4:06 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, an officer responded to Walgreens Pharmacy at 1512 South Main St. for a reported unarmed robbery.

A store employee told police that an unknown white male suspect approached the register and handed over a note demanding money.

After she complied with his demands, the suspect fled on a bicycle that he had stolen while leaving the store.

At around 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday, police were called to Seasons Gas Station at 130 William S. Canning Blvd. for a reported robbery.

The clerk told police that a man had entered the store and demanded cash from the register, then fled on foot after the clerk complied.

Major Crimes Detective Cheyenne Fortin conducted an investigation into the robberies, eventually finding that both robberies were committed by the same perpetrator.

Police arrested Miranda-Dion on Thursday and charged him with two counts of unarmed robbery and larceny under $1,200.
