FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Fall River Police arrested an 18-year-old male on September 26 for allegedly carrying an unlicensed firearm.

Jovanni Rivera, 18, faces multiple charges including possession of a large-capacity firearm, possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of ammunition without an FID card, receiving stolen property and resisting arrest.

According to police, a trace of the serial number revealed that the firearm had been reported stolen.

At the time of the arrest, detectives assigned to the Vice, Gang, and Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at an address on the 100 block of Eighteenth Street in Fall River.

During the execution of the search warrant, detectives located a loaded Sig Sauer p320 pistol.
