FALL RIVER (WBSM) — A Fall River man was arrested on multiple firearms charges following the execution of a search warrant Thursday.

According to Fall River Police, members of the department’s Gang Unit, along with the Emergency Services unit, executed the warrant Thursday, June 5 at a residence on the 1500-block of Rodman Street.

Police said the target of the investigation was Jazer Hernandez Vergara, 23.

The search of the residence turned up a Glock 26 9mm handgun loaded with six rounds of ammunition. Hernandez Vergara is not legally allowed to obtain a license to carry due to prior firearms-related convictions.

He was arrested and charged with possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and possession of a firearm with two prior violent/drug crime convictions.
