Prizes Await at Fall River’s ‘Hot Shot’ Basketball Challenge Event
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Basketball players, now's your time to shine.
The Hot Shot Challenge is coming to Fall River. The event will allow lucky basketball players to have fun in a friendly competition, win prizes and free items, and give the community an experience to celebrate the sport of basketball.
This year marks the second annual event, hosted by retired police officer Mike Pereira. Due to the high response to last year's event, the challenge is making its way once again to the city at Britland Park on Friday, August 23.
For young basketball players of all ages, this is a chance to showcase their skills. From Visa gift cards to Nike sneakers, these are not just prizes available to win throughout the competition but also a recognition of your skills and dedication to the game.
On the day of the competition, there will be three co-ed divisions, ranging from ages 10 to 18-plus, with first-place winners in each division. There will also be a free-three competition, where the first-place winner will walk away with a pair of Nike Air Jordan Tatum 2 sneakers.
Even if you are not part of the competition, you can still join the fun with raffles, food and entertainment.
The Hot Shot Challenge is not just about the competition and the prizes but also about the opportunity to play the game and participate in a community basketball celebration.
Whether an athlete or not, the event will be a day filled with fun and excitement for everyone.
On August 23, the Hot Shot Challenge will start at 4 p.m., with registration beginning at 3 p.m.
