FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Get ready for a spooky night under the stars in Fall River, featuring costumes, food, candy and a free movie event.

The City of Fall River, RE-CREATION, and Fall River Public Schools are teaming up to host a free Halloween drive-in movie and trunk or treat event kicking off Friday, October 4.

The night starts at 5 p.m. at the former Nagle Auditorium parking lot at 376 Ray Street. During that time, the community can collect their favorite treats while trunk or treating.

Then, at 7 p.m., there will be a screening of the Halloween classic Hocus Pocus 2.

This night is expected to be free fun for everyone to enjoy, with activities from face-painting to giveaways. A petting zoo with alpacas from Hidden Hollow Alpaca Farm will also be available, plus a free photo booth from Tufts Health Plan.

The Trunk-or-Treat portion will also award prizes for the most festively dedicated vehicle trunks of businesses and organizations.

“This is one of the best nights of the year,” Mayor Paul Coogan said. “From the Trunk-or-Treat to the Drive-In movie, and seeing all the costumes, everyone has a ton of fun! I’m happy that we get to bring this event to the community for families to enjoy.”

Guests who are attending only the activities for this event and do not plan to stay for the movie are encouraged to park in the Spencer Borden School parking lot. Those watching the movie should enter from the Ray Street gate and follow parking directions from the volunteers.

No tickets are necessary to attend.
