Free COVID-19 testing will soon be available in Fall River through a new provider, CIC Health, in the parking lot of Bristol Community College at 777 Elsbree Street.

It's part of the state's Stop the Spread initiative, which has been providing free tests in Fall River through two non-profit vendors -- SSTAR and Seven Hills Behavioral Health. Those two contracts with the state are ending Jan. 15. Moving forward, CIC Health will be the only provider of Stop the Spread testing in the city.

Drive-through testing will be available in Lots 2 and 3 on the BCC campus. Starting January 18, the service will be available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 AM to 3 PM; Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 7 PM, and Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM.

CIC Health will use self-administered RT-PCR tests. Testing is by appointment only via mass.gov/info-details/stop-the-spread.  People under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The testing is free and results can be expected in about 24 to 36 hours. those seeking more information should visit CIC Health’s website at www.cic-health.com/support.
