FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Fall River Police took two guns off the street and arrested a man on firearms charges recently.

According to a police Facebook post, members of the Community Action & Suppression Team assisted the Patrol Bureau in executing a search warrant.

Police said it was part of the follow-up investigation into an incident that happened on December 29 in the 200-block of Ames Street. The warrant allowed for the search of a residence as well as a vehicle.

Police said that as a result of the search, a .308 AR10 rifle was seized from the residence, and a Glock 19 was seized from the center console of the vehicle.

Jonathan Spears, 33, was arrested and charged with multiple violations of Massachusetts firearm laws, including two counts of possession of a large capacity firearm, three counts of possession of a large capacity feeding device, and two counts of possession of ammunition without a firearms identification card or license to carry.
