UPDATE: The Bristol County District Attorney's Office has identified the stabbing victim as Luis Xavier Perez Miranda, and the suspect has been identified as Robert Hodgson, Jr., 48. FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Authorities are investigating after a man was stabbed to death in Fall River early this morning and a suspect now faces a murder charge.

According to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III, Massachusetts State Police assigned to his office and Fall River Police are investigating the incident.

Fall River Police received a 911 call at about 2:15 a.m. reporting someone had been stabbed and killed at 57 Chesworth Street in Fall River.

Police and EMS arrived to find a 53-year-old man suffering from a chest wound. He was taken to Charlton Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later. He was later identified as Luis Xavier Perez Miranda, who lived in Apartment #2 at 57 Chesworth Street.

Robert Hodgson, Jr., 48, was arrested in connection and charged with murder. He is expected to be arraigned today in Fall River District Court.
