FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Fall River Police arrested a man and seized over 500 grams of suspected fentanyl after a traffic stop earlier this week.

According to police, members of the Vice, Intelligence and Gang Units were surveilling a suspect on May 17 believed to be selling drugs in Fall River. Detectives conducted a traffic stop in the area of Milliken Boulevard as a result of the operation.

Detectives learned the driver, Edwin Miliano, 26, was driving with a suspended license and he was taken into custody.

A search of the vehicle turned up “approximately 500 grams of a white powdery substance suspected to be fentanyl, an additional 1.3 grams of suspected fentanyl, and $440 in U.S. currency,” police said.

Miliano was charged with trafficking over 200 grams of a Class A drug and operating a motor vehicle after license suspension.
