Fall River Carousel Will Reopen With Grand Celebration
The Fall River Carousel will reopen just in time for the summer with a grand celebration and a new café experience.
Red Oak Hospitality, the company that now operates the carousel, announced the official opening of the carousel and Gathering Grounds Café, a full-service coffee, ice cream and book boutique located inside the iconic carousel building.
The grand opening celebration will happen on Saturday, May 24 at 11 a.m. and promises to be a day filled with family fun including getting to take a ride on the rejuvenated carousel.

The day kicks off with a ceremonial flag raising and national anthem led by the Buttonwood Brass Band, followed by an official ribbon cutting marking the reopening of the beloved carousel and the launch of the new café concept.
Gathering Grounds will offer a curated selection of books, gifts, locally roasted coffee, ice cream and more – all in a setting steeped in charm and history.
This grand opening celebration will also have special guests including Mary and Bert from Mary Poppins, who will be on hand to share news of their upcoming “Jolly Holiday at the Carousel” this December.

Also joining the festivities will be Mother Goose, helping to welcome the launch of Gathering Grounds’ independent bookstore with upcoming story time events for children.
“At Red Oak Hospitality, we believe in preserving the past while celebrating the future,” said Karl Pelletier, CEO of Red Oak Hospitality. “The revival of the Fall River Carousel, paired with a fresh and nostalgic café experience, is a shining example of that mission. We can’t wait to welcome the community back through these doors.”
The Fall River Carousel and Gathering Grounds Café will be open year-round, offering a space for celebration, education and memory-making for generations to come.
