Fairhaven Mom Continues Campaign Against Common Core
Changes in Massachusetts education are drawing fire from a Fairhaven mother .
Michelle Furtado is part of a campaign working to convince state education officials to dump the Common-Core education program.
Furtado tells WBSM's Brian Thomas, Common Core is short-changing students. "People are telling me that Common Core is more, and I believe its less. The more I hear about it, the more I read, the more I talk with parents, in my heart I believe our kids are being short changed, and its not the way to go," said Furtado.
Furtado has currently begun a Facebook campaign urging state officials to end Common Core and offer a more challenging educational plan for kids. She's also collecting signatures to put a question on the state ballot next year. .
