FAIRHAVEN (WBSM) — A structure fire caused about $150,000 in damage in Fairhaven overnight.

According to the Fairhaven Fire Department, fire crews responded to a structure fire at 41 Adams Street at about 1:57 a.m. today. The building was under construction and was unoccupied.

Engine 3, Ladder 1, Medic 1, Chief 1 and Chief 2 responded to the scene and arrived to find heavy fire showing from the first floor in the southeast corner of the building, the department said.

The fire extended into the attic and was visible from the roof.

Firefighters remained on scene for about two hours fighting the fire, and the department said they were able to keep it from spreading to the adjacent residence.

The New Bedford Fire Department provided mutual aid to the scene, and the Mattapoisett Fire Department provided station coverage.

No injuries were reported.
