‘Enduring Change’ March for Women Scheduled This Month

Ruth Bader Ginsburg left a mark on this country. Her passing on Friday, September 18 moved so many to share their thoughts about her impact on the world, and their own personal lives as well. RBG once said, “Real change, enduring change happens one step at a time.” This quote inspired local groups to act in honor of the late Supreme Court Justice and to coordinate an effort to keep her spirit alive on the SouthCoast.

“Enduring Change Women’s March” is a response to the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. A group of local organizers including the Women's Fund of Southeastern Massachusetts, the YWCA, Greater Southeastern Massachusetts Labor Council, and other friends and volunteers of these organizations, are putting on a march to honor the late Supreme Court Justice.

These groups will be also be using this opportunity to help “Get Out the Vote,” including registering people on-site.

Rachel Dzengelewski is the Development Coordinator at The Women’s Fund of Southeastern Massachusetts and she describes the goal of this event. “As stated on the Women's March site, we will be there to ‘honor and continue RBG’s fight for equal rights, using our collective voice and strength to ensure #EnduringChange."

The Enduring Change Women’s March will take place at Buttonwood Park on Saturday, October 17 from 2 to 3 pm. The rain date will be at the same time on Sunday, October 18. Please wear masks and maintain distance.
