FALL RIVER — Embattled Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia has been arrested at his house Friday morning.

City Councilor and now Acting Mayor Cliff Ponte confirms with WBSM News that the Correia has been led out of his home in handcuffs by authorities and into an unmarked police car. Several unmarked law enforcement vehicles were seen outside the home in pictures on social media.

It’s unknown if the arrest has to do with Correia’s 13-count federal indictment for his involvement in defrauding investors in his SnoOwl app.

WBSM News is on the scene actively gathering more information. We will update this story as soon as more information is available.
