Drunk Driver Slams Into Whale’s Tooth Lot Fence

NEW BEDFORD - A Fall River woman is under arrest after striking a city-owned fence in New Bedford.

Police say Maria Luisa Colon, 22, of Fall River, jumped the curb at 500 Acushnet Avenue before 3 a.m. Sunday, striking a fence at the Whale's Tooth Parking Lot.

Police arrived on the scene and determined Colon was under the influence of alcohol.

Colon was arrested and is charged with OUI liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and having no license in possession.
