A New Bedford developer has been arrested for drunk driving.

Police say 47 year old Andrew Rockett was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol  after the vehicle he was driving struck a parked car on Rockdale Avenue Tuesday night.

The parked car had a four year old child in the back seat.  He was not seriously hurt.

According to the Standard Times, Rockett told police he was reaching for a McDonald's bag on the passenger floor when the accident happened.

Rockett is in the process of building a boutique hotel in the parking lot of the Candleworks building Downtown.
