Donors Needed as Blood Shortage Hits Southeastern Massachusetts
MASSACHUSETTS — The American Red Cross is asking for blood donations during a nation-wide shortage.
A spokeswoman for the organization says thousands of people came out when they issued an emergency call in early July, but they still are in need.
It is not uncommon to have a fewer number of donations during summer because of vacations, but blood products are currently going out faster than they are receiving donations.
Anyone who can donate blood is being asked to help out, as they are especially seeking type O.
