Dartmouth Police Investigating After Woman, Child Struck in Mall Parking Lot
DARTMOUTH — Dartmouth Police are investigating an incident in the Dartmouth Mall parking lot Tuesday night in which a motor vehicle struck a woman and her young son.
At 7:19 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the mall parking lot to investigate a motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash.
Upon arrival, it was determined that a 27-year-old female pedestrian, identified as Karina Maldonado of Providence, RI, and her eight-year-old son had been struck by a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander operated by 53-year-old Elizabeth Platt of Lakeville.
As a result of the crash, both Maldonado and her son were transported to Rhode Island-Hasbro Children’s Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
No charges have yet been filed, and the crash remains under investigation by the Dartmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit.
