DARTMOUTH - Members of the Detective Divisions from the Dartmouth and Fairhaven Police Departments seized over 200 grams of suspected Fentanyl, among other illegal drugs on Friday.

Fairhaven and Dartmouth Police detectives conducted a search warrant at 38 Beechwood Drive in connection with a Dartmouth narcotics investigation. Police arrested and charged 26-year old Ryan Wood with trafficking Fentanyl (200+ grams), possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug in a school zone, and possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug (Suboxone).

“I am very proud of the efforts put forth by my detectives,” Dartmouth Police Chief Brian Levesque said in a statement. “Not only did they take $20,000 worth of a very dangerous drug off of the street, but they also most likely saved numerous lives in the process of doing so.”

Dartmouth Police detective Derek Sousa led the investigation.
