Dartmouth Police Investigating Potential Drunken Crash
DARTMOUTH (WBSM) — Dartmouth Police are investigating a motor vehicle crash that potentially was the result of driving under the influence.
According to police, officers responded at about 9:10 p.m. on January 5 to the area of 603 Potomska Road for a report of a gray BMW that struck a telephone pole.
Officers arrived to find the vehicle had hit and broken the pole, but that the driver was no longer in the car. According to police, a witness said the driver may have run into the nearby woods.
Through the use of a drone, police were able to locate and identify the driver as Joshua Gallaudet, 41, of Dartmouth.
Gallaudet was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
“Through preliminary investigation, it is suspected that alcohol impairment may have been a contributing factor,” police said, noting that the incident remains under investigation and that charges against Gallaudet are pending.
