UNCASVILLE, CT — The Dartmouth man suspected of setting fire to his home before going on the lam and being chased across three state lines last week is still being held in Connecticut on a $1 million bond.

According to the Connecticut State Department of Correction online database, 36-year-old Ian Grant is currently at the Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center in Uncasville, CT.

Grant was caught in Connecticut after allegedly setting fire to his house on Prospect Street in Dartmouth early on April 13, then allegedly driving into two Massachusetts State Police cruisers on I-195 in Westport.

After allegedly heading westbound on the eastbound side of 195, Grant was later discovered in Rhode Island, where he allegedly brandished a firearm from his pickup truck and led authorities on a chase through the state and into Connecticut.

He is being held there on charges of engaging police in a pursuit, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, interfering with an officer/resisting, and failure to drive in the proper lane, as well as being a fugitive from justice.

A Bristol County District Attorney's Office spokesperson said Grant is facing charges for arson and burning the property of another in New Bedford District Court.

According to a spokesperson for the Rhode Island state police, Grant also faces charges there.

These include firearm possession, felony assault, eluding, and reckless driving (second offense.)

A Connecticut State Police spokesperson said that based on the pending charges in Massachusetts, Grant will be turned over to authorities in this state.

It is unclear when he will be transferred back to Massachusetts, or when he will appear in court in Rhode Island.
