DARTMOUTH – Dartmouth Police arrested two people on Friday after an extensive narcotics investigation, including arresting a man on drug charges for the second time in just over a month.

On August 27, Dartmouth Police narcotics detectives arrested John Oliveira, 61, of Sodom Road in Westport, and Bernadette Saucier, 58, of Highland Avenue in Dartmouth. Oliveira had previously been arrested by Dartmouth Police on July 23 after crashing his car while trying to flee from police, and a K-9 unit found suspected drugs during the arrest.

In Friday’s investigation, police seized 1.25 grams of suspected cocaine, four grams of suspected crack cocaine, pills believed to be oxycodone, and $371 in cash.

Oliveira was charged in Friday’s incident with possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug (subsequent offense), two counts of possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug, two counts of possession of a Class B drug, conspiracy to violate drug laws, and resisting arrest.
