Some Cuisinart Food Processors have been recalled after there were 69 reports of people who found small pieces of the metal riveted blades had broken off and went in their food.

According to WPRI 12, the company Conair has recalled 8 million of its blenders sold from 1996 through 2015, with the cost between $100 and $350. Approximately 12 different model numbers were involved in the recall, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

"This recall involves the riveted blades in Cuisinart food processors with model numbers that begin with the following: CFP-9, CFP-11, DFP-7, DFP-11, DFP-14, DLC-5, DLC-7, DLC-8, DLC-10, DLC-XP, DLC-2007, DLC-2009, DLC-2011, DLC-2014, DLC-3011, DLC-3014, EV-7, EV-10, EV-11, EV-14, KFP-7 and MP-14."

The model number is located on the bottom of the food processor, and the blades have four rivets and are silver-colored stainless steel.  They also have a beige plastic center hub.

The only food processors that are included in this recall the one's with four rivets in the blades. Cuisinart is printed on the front and on the bottom of the food processors.

30 of the 69 reports involved mouth and tooth injuries, according to the CPSC.

Cuisinart came forward with a statement:

“We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation during this recall. Cuisinart is proud to consistently produce high-quality appliances and we assure you that we will continue to strive to meet your expectations and high standards for quality products.”

If you have one of these processors, you should stop using the riveted blade immediately and contact Cuisinart for a free replacement.
