City Man Charged In Break-In

New Bedford Police arrest a city man, following a break into a West End apartment. 

Police responded to Pleasant and Sycamore streets around 7 Thursday morning, and talked to a neighbor who said she saw a man climb a fire escape and force his way into a second floor apartment. 

Minutes later, the man left the building with two large screen t-v's and got into a yellow cab and left the scene. 

Police tracked the cab through the company and stopped the vehicle at Acushnet Avenue and Tallman Street. 

Arrested was 33 year old Juan Perez (above) of New Bedford.  Police also recovered the two television sets.  Perez is scheduled to appear in District Court on charges of breaking and entering and larceny from a building.
