Two men are facing charges after a car crash in Wareham Wednesday night.

Interim Police Chief Kevin Walsh says around 11:50 p.m. a vehicle sideswiped another vehicle on Sandwich Road then left the scene.

Responding officers noticed a pickup truck with obvious damage a quarter mile from the accident scene on Main Street.

The truck's driver, Joal Cardoza was found to be intoxicated and it was determined that the truck was involved in the accident.

Cardoza was arrested and charges with Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol-Third Offense, Operating to Endanger, Operating After License Revocation, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Personal Injury.

The truck's owner, identified as Kelvin Andrews, was a passenger in the truck. He was also found to be intoxicated and was observed holding an open container of vodka.

Andrews was placed in protective custody due to his intoxication and charged with Violation of the Open Container Law and Allowing an Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle.

The 23-year-old female driver of the vehicle that was hit was treated for minor injuries at Tobey Hospital.
