A new rail station opened Friday in Wareham Village. State and local officials cut a ribbon on Thursday at the new CapeFlyer rail station off Main Street in Wareham.

State Rep. William Straus of Mattapoisett tells WBSM News, the station will provide a comfortable spot for riders to wait for the train....

Straus says the train station fits in well with the surrounding environment in Wareham Village.

The station will serve riders of the CapeFlyer system, on their way to Cape Cod or Boston. Officials believe the Wareham station will help expand tourism opportunities in Southeastern Mass.
