Cab Driver Charged With Leaving The Scene

A cab driver is under arrest after allegedly leaving the scene of an accident.

Det. Captain Steven Vicente tells WBSM News, a Star cab struck a pedestrian in the leg, while the man was crossing George Street late Wednesday afternoon.

The cab driver fled the scene and the pedestrian was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police received a description of the suspect, and staked out the cab office, when the suspect drove up.

Police charged 60 year old Michael Pereira of New Bedford with leaving the scene and driving with a suspended license.
