A former Falmouth resident has been linked to a series of burglaries in Fairhaven.

Mattapoisett Police say 39-year-old Shawn Oller was arrested last week at the Hillside Motel on three outstanding warrants.

Oller was living at the Hillside Motel for several months and during Oller's arrest officers recovered a stolen loaded .40 caliber Smith and Wesson semi-automatic hand gun from his motel room.

Two additional loaded magazines were also recovered and police say the serial numbers on the firearm had been defaced to avoid any further tracing.

Police say officers also located various hand tools, power tools, and camping equipment, some of which were connected to burglaries in Falmouth and Fairhaven.

Oller was charged with Possession of a large capacity firearm, Possession of a loaded firearm, Defacing the serial numbers on a firearm, Possession of Ammunition, Firearm violation with 3 prior violent crimes and Receiving stolen property over $250.

This case is also being investigated by the Falmouth Police Department and the Fairhaven Police Department.
