Just like Mike Tyson when he bit Evander Holyfield’s ear, an ear-biting incident occurred during a heated dispute between two men who dated the same woman at different times.

According to The Enterprise, officers responded to 129 Melrose Street in Brockton on Saturday and found a 38-year-old man missing a part of his right ear.

36 year-old, Jose Luis Perreira, was arrested and charged with mayhem after police conducted an investigation.

Perreira stated that his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend was across the street when he went over to talk to him and an argument with a physical altercation encountered.

According to Perreira, the other man bit him on the right finger, and in a defensive move, he bit off his right ear.

Perreira then threw the portion of the victim’s ear into the woods and the piece was not recovered.

The victim was transported to Mass General Hospital in Boston and the injury was determined as not life-threatening.

Perreira was transported to the hospital for treatment on his finger.

The 36-year-old Brockton man was arraigned in Brockton District Court yesterday.
