Boston Mayor Wu Could Face Criminal Contempt Charge Over Migrants
Looking to steer clear of problems with the federal government, Governor Maura Healey recently denied Massachusetts provides sanctuary to illegal aliens.
Boston's WBZ-TV Channel 4 reports Healey told a scrum of reporters, "Officials here follow the law. We are not a sanctuary state."
This as Trump Administration "Border Czar" Tom Homan has promised to come to Boston and "bring hell with him" in his quest for criminal illegal aliens.
Homan and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu have been trading blows in the media over Homan's efforts to round up criminal illegals and send them home to their native countries.
Wu and several other "blue city" mayors appeared before the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, which held a hearing titled "A Hearing with Sanctuary Mayors."
To say the session was continuous at times would be an understatement.
Some committee members felt the mayors, particularly Wu, were not as forthcoming or cooperative as they would have liked.

Fox News Digital reports that Rep. Ana Paulina Luna (R-Florida) said that the mayors who testified at the hearing violated federal law that "makes it illegal to bring in and harbor unauthorized aliens."
Luna posted to X, "I just referred the sanctuary mayors to the Department of Justice for CRIMINAL investigations based on evidence from their own comments and policies, proving that they are breaking federal law."
Wu is also facing a scandal for using more than $600,000 in taxpayer funds for coaching before her appearance before the congressional committee.
The City Council voted in December to reaffirm Boston's sanctuary city status. Seven other Massachusetts communities have declared themselves sanctuary cities.
