The message is clear: Only buy tickets from authorized ticket agencies to avoid falling victim to scammers.

Boston Police emphasized the importance of purchasing tickets through official vendors to lower the risk of ending up with invalid, duplicate or counterfeit tickets. While secondary sources may offer tempting deals, fans are urged to exercise caution and understand the potential consequences of buying from unauthorized sellers.

"We want fans to enjoy the playoff games without the worry of being duped by counterfeit tickets," the department said in a Facebook post. "Our aim is to proactively prevent such activity and ensure that fans have a safe and enjoyable experience."
