For years, I thought the most popular destination of New England air travelers out of Boston Logan International Airport was the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

It's not – at least not anymore.

Spend a while waiting for a plane at a Logan Airport terminal, and you're bound to encounter legions of Disney devotees, some ecstatic to be on their way to Mickey Mouse Mecca and others crestfallen to be back in Massachusetts.

Who could blame them?

So if not Mouse House East, where is everyone who blasts off seemingly every minute from one of the busiest airports in the nation going?

Would you believe New York City? At least, that's the most popular destination for travelers departing from Logan International.

Rin Velasco and Katie Landeck reported in The Patriot Ledger, "The most popular destination for Logan flyers is the city that never sleeps."

New York, New York. The Big Apple.

Velasco and Landeck confirmed the top 10 flight destinations from Logan International with an "official" official, and the results might surprise you.

The 10th-most popular destination is Dublin, Ireland, followed by Paris, France (really?), San Juan, Puerto Rico, then London, United Kingdom, followed by San Francisco, California, Orlando, Florida, Atlanta, Georgia, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Illinois, and New York, New York.

The airport's website says, "Boston Logan International Airport is continuing to add more and more destinations across the globe."

The more destinations, the greater the need for additional parking spaces, which makes the case for MassPort's proposal to raise parking fees dramatically to pay for an expansion.

Wherever you are headed, bon voyage and be safe!
