An interesting and new study suggests that drinking black coffee may help you maintain a healthy set of whiter teeth! If you want healthier teeth, take a look at the kind of coffee you're drinking! Higher amounts of caffeine actually kill bacteria that cause dental plaques.

It appears that brushing and flossing your teeth properly are not the only means to have  smile-worthy teeth. From the study, "Antibacterial Effect Of Coffee," published June 7 in Letters in Applied Microbiology, researchers from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil found that coffee which contains high amounts of caffeine can destroy bacteria that cause dental plaques.

Sadly, if you drink your coffee with sugar, milk or cream, this will give your teeth the opposite effect. You should drink your coffee black, very strong and unsweetened if you want to have a positive effect on your oral health!
