Bishop Celebrates Mass For Catholic Education

Fall River Bishop Edgar Da Cunha was in New Bedford Friday, celebrating a mass with students and staff members from all Catholic Schools in Greater New Bedford.

The students filled St. Anthony's Church in the North End.

The new Bishop says Catholic education is important....

Bishop Da Cunha said he was surprised and pleased when students announced a donation of $1,000 to the food pantry at St. Anthony's.

The Bishop had stressed generosity during his homily, but Da Cunha said he had no idea the students were making that gift.
