Biden Writes Off Dartmouth Lockup [PHIL-OSOPHY]

The headline reads, "Massachusetts jail loses Homeland Security contract due to mistreatment," when it should say, "Massachusetts jail loses Homeland Security contract due to political reprisals."

I'm not surprised at all by this, because for years, the same ultra-liberal zealots have been making despicable accusations about Sheriff Tom Hodgson and the correctional and ICE detention facilities. They are settling the score on behalf of the Biden Administration's rollback of Trump-era immigrant policies by terminating the contract between ICE and the Bristol County Sheriff's Office.

Even before Hodgson was tapped to serve as honorary co-chairman of Trump's re-election campaign in Massachusetts, quite a few partisan groups have had Sheriff Hodgson in their telescopic scopes. And like the squeaky wheel, these diehards would create a media scene to attract negative attention. I'm not surprised at all this; fact is, when Trump wasn't re-elected, the political buzzards started circling the C. Carlos Carreiro Immigration Detention Center.

The media coverage must be getting its talking points from the same source, describing the facility as a place where allegations of immigrant and civil rights abuses took place with zeal. Truth is, all the Democrat delegation from the state and federal level wanted to turn the tables on Hodgson. They all took their turns flogging the sheriff in a public setting, describing the facility as a place of cruelty, brutality and misanthropy.

That image doesn't conform with the best and highest scores from national standard tests, unannounced examinations and inspections. Hodgson keeps an orderly, clean and civilized facility. Don't believe the nasty political sabotage directed at him or the facility.

This was Biden's way of settling a score with Trump, while Attorney General Maura Healey got even for years of hostility and animosity between the two. And the local actors, the ones that on weekends kept a fire to Hodgson's feet. To them, this must be temporary sweet revenge.

In an ironic way, the Biden Administration wanted to politically punish the sheriff. That's what is meant by saying elections have consequences.
