Biden Shouldn’t Get a Pass for ‘Junkie’ Remark [OPINION]
In what has become routine these days, presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden makes an outrageous statement, and it goes largely unchallenged by most in the media.
On Wednesday, Biden lost what's left of is mind when a reporter asked him whether he had taken a cognitive test. Biden snapped, “No, I haven’t taken a test. Why the hell would I take a test?” Of course, just weeks ago, Biden told reporters he is “constantly tested” for cognitive decline. Which is it, Joe?
Biden replied by asking the reporter if he was a "junkie" and if he had been tested for cocaine use. “Come on, man," he said. "That’s like saying to you before you got on this program if you had to take a test where you’re taking cocaine or not. What do you think, huh? Are you a junkie?”
The reporter was Errol Barnett of CBS News. A Black man.
Could you imagine the absolute furor had Donald Trump asked a Black reporter if he had been tested for cocaine and whether or not he was a junkie? I know you can. And you have probably wondered how it is that Biden can get away with it when Trump clearly would have been held to a different standard?
The media has different rules for different people. The outrage and condemnation are reserved for those who are not a part of the insiders' club. The rest, well, they just get a pass.
It's just one more reason to shut off the cable news networks and go for a walk.
