Rob Delaleu, a New Bedford native, is making his mark in education.

Delaleu was recently named Director of Multi-Cultural Affairs at Bristol Community College. He had previously served as Director of BCC's Multi-Cultural Center on the Fall River Campus. He also was a very successful basketball coach for the BCC Bayhawks.

Delaleu has led an effort this spring and summer to educate the school community and others on racial issues using a series of virtual forums. Another is scheduled for July 30 on Equity in Education.

Following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, BCC and Delaleu issued powerful statements urging an end to racism and the need for equal treatment for all people.

This week, Rob Delaleu joined Townsquare Sunday to talk about his new position and some of the lessons learned by young people, both in and out of the classroom:
