The museum at Battleship Cove is hosting a clam boil fundraiser from 5:30 to 7:30pm on Sunday, June 26.  It will be held on the back portion of the USS Massachusetts to benefit the restoration of the Huey Helicopter.

According to South Coast Today.com, the UH-1m (Huey) on display at Battleship Cove was manufactured in 1966, and served two tours in Vietnam.  It was then was assigned to the 14th Aviation Battalion of the 23rd Infantry Division and was hit by hostile gunfire in 1969.  The Huey was dedicated at the museum on May 30, 1993, and is an important part of this country’s history.

Guests will enjoy waterfront seating, iced tea and lemonade, chocolate brownies for dessert, and a classic clam boil.

Space is limited and reservations are required.  Tickets are $40 for adults, $35 for veterans and $18 for children 12 and under.  For more information on the event, call 508-678-1100 ext. 101/102.  For more information regarding the Huey Helicopter restoration, please email Elizabeth York at curator@battleshipcove.org.
