Attorney Moira Tierney has been nominated by Mayor Jon Mitchell to fill the vacant seat on the Steamship Authority Board of Governors.

If confirmed by the City Council, Tierney would fill the seat held by her late father, the Honorable John Tierney who died several weeks ago.

Mayor Mitchell says "Moira Tierney understands well the positive contributions of ferry service to the city's economy, and will represent our interests well."

Tierney would serve out her father's current term, which ends in December, 2017.
