There is some preliminary evidence that attendance in New Bedford Public Schools is improving.  Assistant Superintendent Heather Larkin tells WBSM News, an uptick in attendance has been recorded at New Bedford High School.

Larkin has worked for several years on the "Where Are You Headed" program in New Bedford Public Schools that stresses attendance as a key factor in order to graduate.  Larkin says that message begins even at the elementary level.
