Attempted Purse Snatching Foiled

A 28 year old New Bedford woman foiled an attempted purse snatching Saturday Night in the North End. Detective Capt. Steve Vicente tells WBSM News that at around 8:30, the 28 year old woman was walking home in the area of Bellville Ave and Nye Street when she was approached by two young males. One white and one black. They tried to steal her pocketboook but she put up a struggle and although her pocketbook was torn,   both  men fled empty handed.
