A fifth person charged in the New Years Eve fatal shooting of Aaron Gant Jr. appeared in District Court on Friday.

Twenty-two year old Angel Acevedo of New Bedford is charged with accessory to murder after the fact.

According to the Standard Times, prosecutors said Acevedo drove a rented vehicle believed used in the shooting to the Sacco-Biddeford area of Maine on January 1st, then returned to New Bedford in another vehicle.

Judge James McGovern set bail for Acevedo at $250,000.

Four other suspects charged in the case have all been charged with obstruction of justice for allegedly lying to police.

No one has been charged with Gant's murder. Police have described Gant as an "innocent bystander."
