New Bedford's SEYAA All-Star 10U baseball team was honored by the city Friday for their very successful summer.

The boys received official resolutions and wise words from Mayor Jon Mitchell about how they'll look back on their accomplishments.

"Twenty years from now you'll tell somebody about what you did this summer and how far you went in the tournament and all that stuff and that's great. But you'll also remember all the friendships you made and the great time you had with your families," Mitchell said.

The All-Stars won the Cal Ripken District 5 title, the Cal Ripken Eastern Massachusetts State Title, and finished fourth at the Cal Ripken Regional Tournament held in Maine.

The team also won local tournaments in Easton, Dartmouth and North Providence and reached the title game in the Whaling City Tournament.

Head coach Shad Samagaio made sure to remind the boys how great of a team they were.

"What can't be said about this team? You guys are an incredible group of athletes with great attitudes and incredible talent," Samagaio said during the ceremony.

After the ceremony, the team presented Mayor Mitchell with his very own All-Star hat and sweatshirt.
