After electing to have surgery after the 2012 post season, Alex Rodriguez started the 2013 on the 60 day disabled list. he has now been cleared by the Yankees to begin his minor league rehab assignment.

On Tuesday night, Alex Rodriguez is set to begin his minor league assignment for the New York Yankees in Single-A Charleston. When asked about how it felt to be back in the swing of things he replied 'Awesome'.

Rodriguez had hip surgery back in January, and has been working out in Florida on his way to recovery. So when will he back in the bigs for the Yankees? As of right now, there is no set timetable for that. The Yankees have lost 5 games in a rown, and are currently 6.5 games back of the first place Boston Red Sox in the AL East.

Also a concern for the Yankees and Alex Rdoriguez is the ongoing investigation into the allegations of steroid use by him, and around 20 other MLB players from a clinic in Miami.
