The runways at the New Bedford Regional Airport will be closed next week because of construction at the airport.

The Mayor's Office says the closures will begin Monday night at 9 and will continue until July 18th.

The work is related to work at the airport's runway intersection and reconstruction of the airport's main runway.

The airport will remain open for helicopter operations as well as administration functions. Rental car facilities, the Airport Grille Restaurant, and other businesses will also remain open.

Cape Air passengers are encouraged to contact the airline for an updated flight schedule.
