The $5.2 million station was approved by a vote of 536 to 451.  The turnout in Acushnet was 13%.  Police Chief Michael Alves admits being nervous during the final hours of voting......

Chief Alves says he'll be looking for grants to help pay for new equipment that will be needed inside the new station.
