The Division of Marine Fisheries is holding a workshop in New Bedford Friday for shoreside businesses that have felt the impact of the fishing disaster.

Eligible fishing crew members, lumpers, and longshoremen are invited to attend the workshop, and fill out applications for Phase Two Groundfish Disaster Economic Assistance.

Jim Kendall of New Bedford Seafood Consulting tells WBSM News many businesses could be eligible for disaster relief funds, "Anyone who can document that a lot of their resources or a lot of their business and income was linked to the fishing industry should consider it. It's probably going to be a one-time deal on this."

Kendall says $750,000 has been made available for this phase of disaster aid.

The workshop runs from 11am-2pm Friday at the Quest Center at 1213 Purchase Street in New Bedford.
